The crowds cheering the competitors, their strength from the support being given, finally the result of completing an endurance race showing what the human form is capable of achieving.
Three Peaks Yacht Race 2016
This unique adventure race, a gruelling mix of running and sailing, takes teams of five on a journey up the west coast of Britain, from Wales to Scotland, battling rocks and tides as they sail 400 miles through some of the most challenging coastal waters in Europe. On the way the yachts will stop in harbours to drop off their runners who must disembark to climb up the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland – covering 82 further miles on land in just a three days. A massive test of endurance for the whole crew, this event, which started in 1977, is a prestigious trophy in both the sailing and mountain running calendars.
