From exotic settings like the French Polynesian island of Tahiti, situated in the South Pacific - a dream destination for honeymooners and of course for off-road triathletes, to Europe, USA and Asia. XTERRA is everywhere.
One of the athletes that enjoys travelling around the world and competing is Mathieu Feder Schwaner. Three years ago, he took part in a sprint distance XTERRA race in his home country and to his surprise he ended up coming out on top. Now he is considered one of the top age group athletes with high ambitions.
Highlander isn’t just a race; it’s a way of connecting with nature, appreciating and nurturing that connection, and enjoying the most amazing mountains our world has to offer. Everyone from the most experienced hikers to amateurs can be part of this once in a lifetime adventure!
Later, we move to Ethiopia. The country’s capital, Addis Ababa, with its great history in athletics, annually host one of the world’s most famous marathon races, and one of the biggest running events in Africa, the TOTAL Great Ethiopian Run 10Km.
Moving on to Doha in Qatar, a city renowned for being a cultural and athletic hub in the Middle East. In 2016, along with the UCI Road World Championships a new event was born, the Ride of Champions. With the support of Ooredoo and with extensive care and concern for the public health and the safety of all participants, they managed to host the event once again.
Finally, we move to the Alps for one of the most established events in the world, the Haute Route Alps. Over ten glorious years, the event has carved a name for itself as one of the toughest amateur cycling races in the world.
